--but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy all the scrappy family vibes that Thanksgiving has to offer!
When Andy and I go out for coffee in Berkeley, we typically read the East Bay Express horoscopes aloud to one another. Accuracy varies from week to week, of course, but this week was spot on. I thought that my entire family might benefit from hearing these wise words tailored especially to their signs, so I transformed some blank postcards I had lying around from another project into "gratitude cards" to grace our Thanksgiving table.
After we'd eaten our fill, I handed the cards out to my uncles, aunts, cousins, dad, brother, and other chosen family. The activity was this: in the blank space provided, write down what you're thankful for at this moment. Address the postcard on the opposite side. I will then hang onto the cards, and when Christmas rolls around I'll stamp and send them out. I've done this exercise before, in school, and it's always useful to get messages from your past self.
Gobble, gobble!
Lauren -- your endless creativity never ceases to amaze me! these cards are awesome.
ReplyDelete@Steph: i always love getting comments from you! i would really love to pick your brain about BUSINESS, and how you started taking custom orders, doing weddings, etc. i see we've both inched our way out onto the frozen pond that is Etsy. but then...?
