Yeah. Ouch. People have complimented my handwriting for years, and yet - this pointed pen and ink business is challenging, even for me! Lately I've been practicing writing this one phrase once each day, either in the morning before work or in the evening before bed, and it's starting to come naturally to my hand.
After a (particularly, unusually) long day of working, a normal person might crack open a beer in front of the television to wind down. I, on the other hand, obliterate my day by blasting John Mayer's Continuum album loud enough to drown out any rational thoughts, and copying out a beautiful poem in tedious pen-and-ink script. A meditation in patience and mindlessness. I started in one ink and finished in another, to compare viscosities, and still can't decide which I prefer.
Please - read the words - it's a wonderful sentiment.
I really like this Lauren! Hope you are doing well.
ReplyDeleteThis is so wonderful. I'm so glad I read it, and I'm so glad you wrote it so beautifully. I have always believed that great words deserve to be presented in a stunning visual display, and I appreciate you doing so.
ReplyDeleteReaux, that is a huge compliment. Thank you. I'm always up for special requests, work trades, commissions, and what have you... just sayin'
