It's always a pleasure for me to draw for a friend, and this time it was on the occasion of the closing night of his theater company's first summer festival. Two high school friends of mine collaborated to create the
Ubuntu Theater Project, which performed four plays in four cities at five venues in less than two weeks, for a total of sixteen shows.
Today they're racing back to their graduate school program in Southern California. Wow.
The backdrop was Park Day School in Oakland, and the lighting by lantern created dramatic shadows that I captured on the back of my program. I am proud to support friends and fellow artists as their hard work enriches my community, and inspires me to do the same.
