Minot Flood

My good friend Camille at One Red Delicious press invited me to collaborate with her on a poster project for her friend's upcoming show in the City. As I am always looking for new illustration projects, I picked up a fine tip black ballpoint pen and said, Sure! I'm certain that this is only the beginning of a series of excellent collaborative works.

The original directions for the image included "flooding," "connecting the dots between flooding and global climate change," "surface of a lake with cultural icons breaking the surface," and "strong lines and strong positive/negative contrast." With these tips in mind, I created the following sketch:

This graphic was then tightened up, inked, and delivered to Camille for integration with text.
