To my sister

Found stuck on a fence nearby my workplace. Photo was pretty mangled, and words on the back were so faint, but the message really made me wonder about the context in which this photo was originally given, left behind, or discovered.

Going to Die

On a morning walk I found this soggy bit hiding on the sidewalk beside the Telegraph Medical Center in Berkeley. A titillating excerpt... I'm struck by how voyeuristic it feels to find something handwritten all ripped up to pieces like this, left to be forgotten.

a red scrap of paper under my wheel
caught my eye. 
Much to the oncoming driver's chagrin
I made a sharp u-turn and picked it up
to find this note addressed simply to 
"Lady":
